Jason Wayne Hughes

Mr. Jason Wayne Hughes, 44, of Stuart, VA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 26, 2023, at his home. Mr. Hughes was born March 13, 1979, in Surry County, the only child born to Charles Hughes and Jean McCann Poplin. Jason was employed as a machine operator at NCFI Polyurethanes. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jean and Johnny Poplin of Stuart, VA; his father, Charles Hughes of Stuart, VA; an uncle and his wife, John and Jessica McCann of Mount Airy; two first cousins, Isaiah McCann and Lincoln McCann; and many friends and coworkers. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Central View Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Noel Hawks officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
