Jean Marie Jerowski Grubb Obituary On Monday, August 26, 2024, Jean Louthen Grubb, of Salem, Va., passed away after battling dementia for several years. She was 91 years old.She was born and raised in Winona, Minn. She was one of six children.She was preceded in death by husbands, Billy Louthen and Bill Grubb.She is survived by daughters, Margie Louthen Twigg (David) of Roanoke, Va. and Cindy (JD) Williams of Salem, Va.; granddaughters, Jennifer (Eric) Cole of New Castle, Va. and Jessica (Jacob) Lindholm of Mt Hope, Wis.; and great-grandchildren, Jon, Peyton, and Zoey Lindholm and Peyton and Caleb Fields. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.She retired from Medeco Security Locks where she served as shipping supervisor. She valued the numerous friendships she made at Medeco. For many years she was an active member of Mountain Pass Baptist Church where she served on committees, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and worked tirelessly on the church yardsale. In the past few years she has appreciated visits from the Baptist Women's Association, particularly those of three very special friends, Mary Otey, Connie Buckland, and Janie Dickson.Jean was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ever have. She and Bill Grubb loved going on vacations with Cindy and JD. She liked going out to eat with Margie and David who would talk her into trying new foods. She and Bill cherished spending time with granddaughters, Jenny and Jessica, and watching them grow up to have families of their own.She is dearly loved by her family and friends and we miss her.Our family would like to express our utmost appreciation to all of the staff at Brookdale Salem for their excellent care. In the past few years they became like family. No words can express how grateful we are to them. We also express our appreciation to Medi Home Health and Hospice for their care. We would also like to thank everyone for their kind words, support, and prayers throughout her difficult journey. According to her wishes, arrangements were made with John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home & Crematory in Salem, Va. for cremation. On Friday, September 20, 2024, there will be visitation at 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel.In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org or a charity of your choosing.
