Jean Marie Taylor Barker

Jean Marie Taylor Barker, 88, of Danville, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, after experiencing declining health the past six months. She was born on December 7, 1933, in Danville to the late Charles S. Taylor and the late Ollie Hubbard Taylor.

Mrs. Barker is survived by her son, Doug Barker and wife Lee Ann; grandchildren, Anna Rohlfsen (Brad), Matthew Barker (Christie); and great-grandchildren, Rachel Rohlfsen (Daniel Hyler), Olivia Barker, and Sophia Barker.

Jean was a faithful member of Blairs Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Fred Douglas Barker; sisters, Dorothy Godfrey, Ruth Maxie, and Hazel Lester; brothers, Horace Taylor, Curtis Taylor, and C.S. Taylor.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2022 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Pastor John Lester officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Blairs Baptist Church, 5260 U S Highway 29, Blairs, VA 24527 or Blairs Volunteer Fire Dept., 7100 U S Highway 29, Blairs, VA 24527.
