Jean Moore LeGrand of Appomattox, Virginia
November 12, 1932 - April 9, 2023

Jean Moore LeGrand, 90, of Appomattox, died Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Babcock Manor. She was the wife of the late Walter Hunter “Boots” LeGrand.

Born in Appomattox County, on November 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Clyde Moore and Katherine Martin Moore. She was a charter member of Grace Hills Baptist Church. Jean started her career with The Bank of Appomattox and retired after 37 ½ years from Central Fidelity Bank.  

She is survived by her two daughters, Jean “Marty” Moore of Appomattox and Susan King and husband, Kenneth of Big Island; five grandchildren, Rhonda Hankins and husband, Dale, Allison Leffell, Chelsea Meador and husband, Greg, Jessica Dorsett and husband, Corey, and Reid King; six great grandchildren, Christian and Brice Hankins, Hollis Leffell, and Camden, Paetyn, and Raena Dorsett; a brother-in-law, Jack Wayne Burks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Burks and Myrtle White; brother-in-law, Clarence White; and son-in-law, Henry Cornelius “Shorty” Moore.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Friday, April 14, 2023, at Grace Hills Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Gary Dalton. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
