Jeane Anderson Atkinson Chamblin

Jeane Anderson Atkinson Chamblin, 89, of Chatham passed away on April 30, 2024. Jeane was born in Pittsylvania on September 10, 1934 to the late Ernest Ballard Atkinson Sr and Maude Keesee Atkinson. Jeane is survived by her husband Delmas Wayne Chamblin of Chatham. Jeane is also survived by her daughter, Mary Chamblin Nuckols Claytor of Chatham; her grandchildren, Lydia Reynolds (Austin) of Callands and Julia Easome (Zachary) of Chatham; her great-grandchildren, Xander, Emily, Ashten, Huntley, Emma, Blaine, and Westen. She also is survived by her niece, June Harris Johnson of Blairs; her great-niece, Christy Johnson of Blairs; her great-great niece, Tiara Clark of Blairs. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Jeane was predeceased by her sister Doris Harris (Nathan) and her brothers, Roy Atkinson, and Ernest Ballard “EB” Atkinson Jr. A visitation is scheduled for May 4, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Mill Creek Community Church with a service to follow immediately after. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence. Burial is to follow the service. Rev. Darryl Campbell is officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mill Creek Community Church (3720 Chalk Level Rd, Chatham, VA 24531) or to a charity of your choice.
