Jennifer Lynn Horne
Jennifer Lynn Horne, 57, of Danville, Virginia, passed away Oct. 19, 2026, surrounded by her immediate family.
Born Oct. 31, 1968, in Wake County, North Carolina, to Thomas Leon Horne and Betty Pilkington Horne, Jennifer lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and compassion. She graduated from Clayton High School and attended classes at North Carolina State University before moving to Danville, where she graduated from the former Danville Regional Medical Center School of Nursing in 2000. She spent more than 25 years as a registered nurse, working at SOVAH Health and, for several years, as a school nurse with Danville Public Schools. She made a lasting impact on coworkers, patients, and students through her expertise and larger-than-life personality.
She built a home filled with laughter, music, and open-ended conversations where everyone was encouraged to be themselves. Jennifer loved cooking, concerts, Halloween, DIY costumes, the holidays, and more than anything, spending time with her kids.
She is survived by her four children, Laith, Abbey, Sage, and Chad Abueznaid; her son-in-law, Mason Keyser; her brother, Jon Horne; her sister, Lisa Horne; and her mother, Betty Pilkington Horne. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Leon Horne.
A visitation with the family will be held Oct. 25, 2026, at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at noon. Both will take place at Norris Funeral Services - West End Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to METAvivor, an organization that solely funds Metastatic Breast Cancer research.
