Jerrie Barrow Wright

Jerrie Wright, 60, of Martinsville passed away on Sunday, June 09, 2024, at her residence. She was born on December 4, 1963, to the late Jerry Barrow and Dorothy Wilson Matherly in Martinsville, Virginia.

Jerrie retired from Blue Ridge Nursing Home, having served as a Certified Dietary Manager. She was a member of the Woodland Heights Freewill Baptist Church. An avid reader, she found joy in books. Cooking brought her joy, with spaghetti, macaroni and tomatoes being among her favorites. Her greatest delight, however, lay in the company of her family, particularly her three grandchildren.

Jerrie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dwight C. Wright Jr.; three daughters, Jessica Boyd (Brian); Victoria Wright, and Tiffany Wright; three grandchildren, Alexander “Xander” Boyd, Dakota Ridge Goode, and Amy Grace Boyd, one sister, Nancy McMillan; one brother, Charles Barrow; and host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 1:00pm at Woodland Heights Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor John Michael officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
