Jerry Wayne Dale

Jerry Wayne Dale, 62, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Born on August 6, 1963, in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Ernest Ray Dale and Dorothy Lee Stinnette Dale. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Dale Harris, and his niece, Daniel “Rai Rai” Dale.

Jerry attended Lynchburg City Schools and was a member of Fairview Christian Church, where he was baptized on March 5, 2025. Throughout his life, he worked a variety of jobs throughout Hill City and spent many years landscaping until declining health no longer allowed him to continue.

Jerry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, was a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins, and never missed an opportunity to talk about Dan Marino. He deeply loved his father and cherished his faithful dog, “Booty Boo.”

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jessica Dale, Logan Leigh Dale, and William Lowell Buchanan; his siblings, Steve Dale (Sherri), Pauline D. Carrico (John), Deborah L. Dale, and Rebecca DeLoach; four grandchildren, his special lifelong friends, Tina Buchanan and Kenneth Gentry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
