Jimmy "Stuff" Tinsley
Jimmy “Stuff’ Tinsley, 77, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was born September 26, 1946, in Marytown, West Virginia to the late Otis Tinsley, Sr. and Glady Phillips Tinsley.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Anna Jean Tinsley; brother, Allen Fredrick Tinsley.Stuff proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran who worked as a combat engineer during his time of service. He attended and was a member of Truth and Faithful Gospel Church where he enjoyed serving by being an usher. He was an employee of Virginia Mirror until his retirement. In his free time, you could find him training in the boxing rink or lifting weights. He also enjoyed watching football and movies. The most treasured moments were those spent with friends and family.He is survived by daughters WyTina Watkins and Megane Watkins (Jamie); sons, Carey Turner (Anya), Justyn Still (Latoya), and Jimmy Still; sisters, Brenda Lawshe-Jefferson (Walter), Sharon Neal, and Erma Dillard; brothers, Otis Leon Tinsley, Jr., Tommy Tinsley, and Joe Henry Tinsley (Gail); thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a special nephew Michael Tinsley.The funeral will be Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Brenda Lawshe-Jefferson officiating. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
