Joan Lawrence Burleson

Joan Marie Lawrence Burleson, 66 of Pembroke, VA departed this life August 18, 2023 in the loving care of her family.  Born in Radford, VA on January 11, 1957 she was a daughter of the late Earl and Anna May Montgomery Lawrence.  

She was a proud member of the Pembroke Assembly of God and enjoyed taking care of the church grounds.  She also enjoyed sewing, trying different recipes and feeding the birds.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harley Roosevelt Burleson; grandson, Harley Ratcliffe; and brother, James Dexter Lawrence.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael Lloyd Burleson of Pembroke, Rocky Dewayne Burleson of Pembroke, and Daniel Lee Burleson (Courtney) of Pembroke; a daughter, Angela Lou Burleson of Pembroke; grandchildren, Kaylie Reynolds, Samantha Ratcliffe, Deven Reynolds, Tiffany Dunbar, and Danielle Burleson; several great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Lawrence, Jr. of Radford, VA; and sister, Roxanne Lucado of Radford, VA.

There will be a funeral service conducted on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the Pembroke Assembly of God with Pastor Michael Bonds officiating.  Funeral Services will conclude at Birchlawn Burial Park.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the Pembroke Assembly of God.  A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Burleson family.
