John "Brad" Braswell Whichard

John Braswell “Brad” Whichard, 57, of Danville, VA passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2023. He was born on February 15, 1966.

Brad was survived by his mother; Mary Beverly, children; Jordan, Cameron and Lane and many beloved friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father; John Garland Whichard and step father; Darrell Beverly.

Brad was born in Raleigh, NC., raised in Danville, VA and attended Sacred Heart School. He also lived on the Outer Banks, NC., spent a cold winter in Snow Shoe, WV and several summers at Smith Mountain Lake, VA.

He was an outdoor enthusiast. You could always find him close to water, on the beach, or in a boat with a dog. He never met a stranger, quickly making friends wherever he went.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 2:00PM at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA followed by a time of visitation.

The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Mary Beverly.

A celebration of life at Smith Mountain Lake will be held at a later date.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
