John "Donnie" Prillaman

“Donnie” John Donald Prillaman, Sr., 79, gained his angel wings on April 29, 2024. He was born on December 10, 1944, in Henry County, to the late Alexander Prillaman and Hazel Erma Adams Prillaman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marjorie Willis Prillaman.

John honorably served in the United States Air Force as a Communication and Relay Center Repairman, from 1963 to 1966. He worked at Stanley Furniture as a Program Analyst for over 50 years. He faithfully attended Rich Acres Christian Church, in Ridgeway, Virginia. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the beach, and watching television, preferably The Young and the Restless, or NASCAR, where he commonly pulled for Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Most importantly, he was a lover of all kinds of food.

John is survived by one sister, Mary Ann Doss (Ray); one son, John D. Prillaman, Jr. (Teresa); one daughter, Michelle Kendall (Keith); and five grandchildren, Jamie, Selene, Damon, Sophie, and Olivia; and his beloved dog, Muffin.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Ben Hankins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A burial will immediately follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
