John E. Cook

John E. Cook, 87, husband of Mary Ferguson Cook, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. He was the son of the late Thurman and Carrie Campbell Cook. He was also preceded in death by a son, Darryl Cook; sister, Bertie Lou Talbert; brother, Joseph Cook.

John was a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy and also worked as a meat cutter for many years.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mary Ferguson Cook, he will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Wanda McLaughlin and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Johnathan McLaughlin, Jennifer Dillon and her husband Alex, Cindy Craig and her husband Matt, and Kimberly Cook. Great-grandchildren, Hunter Cook, Kara Craig, James Craig, and Josephine Dillon. A daughter-in-law, Pam Frost, as well as multiple nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October, 3,2024 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Hilton Jeffreys officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside. The family will speak to guests following the service.
