John Marshall Merriman

John Marshall Merriman, 70, of Axton, Virginia, passed away at his home on Monday, October 26, 2026. He was born on July 19, 1956, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Curtis Darrell Merriman and Barbara Gibson Merriman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Ann Merriman; and brothers, Curtis Darrell Merriman, Jr., Ricky Merriman, Donald Merriman, Sr., and Joey Merriman.

John worked many years in industrial work and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with his brother and his dad. Another passion he had was working on cars.

Those left to carry fond memories of John in their hearts are his daughter, Crystal Gayle; and grandchildren, Brooklyn Mia Marriman, Michael Austin Turner, Kristen Sierra Keen, and Brady Thomas Gayle.

Although services will be private, the family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and support that has been shown.
