John Mitchell Spangler

John Mitchell Spangler, 91, of Salem passed away on December 14, 2023 at Richfield Health and Rehabilitation.

A native of Hollybrook, Virginia (Bland County) he was the husband of the late Frances Coffey Spangler and the son of James Marvin Spangler and Eliza Alice Sarver Spangler, both deceased. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was in the used car automotive industry for 50 years in the Roanoke Valley. Above all else the most important part of John’s life was his wife. They loved their Florida vacations and camping together. John was a kind and gentle man.

In addition to his wife and parents John was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Spangler, Harvey Spangler, Joe Spangler, and Dewey Spangler.

A graveside service will be held in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
