John William Minkema

John William Minkema, 81, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024. He was born August 17, 1942, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late John Minkema and Edith Minkema.In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife, Dorothy Maccinni Minkema; and brother, Charlie Minkema.John proudly served in the United Sates Marine Corps and was a dedicated truck driver for sixty years. He enjoyed car shows and his animals.He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Minkema and Corinna Taylor; son, John Minkema (Amy); stepdaughter, Dawn Desj ardins; grandchildren, William Minkema, Emily Clark, Conner Young, and Karissa Minkema; as well as three great grandchildren.All services will be private.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
