Joseph Earl Saylor

Joseph Earl Saylor, 65, of Axton, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on February 13, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, to Cecilia Alioto Saylor and the late Earl Saylor.

Joseph attended Tunstall High School and worked as a cabinet builder for more than 20 years. He was a kind and genuine man who loved God and cherished his family. His granddaughter held a special place in his heart, and his face would light up whenever she came to visit. He enjoyed telling stories, cracking jokes, and sharing laughter with those around him.

An avid NASCAR fan, Joseph looked forward to race day each Sunday. He also enjoyed building and racing go-karts with his lifelong friends, creating memories through their shared love of racing.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Cecilia Alioto Saylor; his daughter, Josie Saylor; his son, Joseph Saylor II; his beloved granddaughter, Autumn Peatross; three sisters, Robyn Saylor, Tina Saylor, and Pamela Saylor; and a host of other family members and friends.

Although services will be private, the family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and care shown during this time of grief.
