Joseph Fitzgerald Mooney

Joseph Fitzgerald Mooney, 58, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his home. He was born May 4, 1964, in Norton, Virginia to the late John Mooney Sr. and Betty Lay Mooney. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and had worked at Hanes Brand. He enjoyed cooking, watching television, walking and the Redskins. He especially loved his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Gravely. He is survived by his sisters, Janet Walton and Rachel Mooney; brothers, John H. Mooney, Jr., Frank H. Mooney and Samuel Mooney. A funeral will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
