Joseph Sterling Grant

Joseph Sterling Grant, 56 of Bedford passed away Friday, October 30, 2026 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born September 5, 1970, a son of the late David Stewart Grant and Faye King Grant.

Joseph attended Thaxton Baptist Church, was a member of the Bedford Moose Lodge #1897 and was a BIG Virginia Tech fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Grace Grant; his brother, Stewart D. Grant; his nephews, David M. Grant, Spencer D. Grant; his aunts and uncles, Julia “Judy" K. Hudgins and husband, Garrett, Virginia “Jenny" Obenchain and husband, Tommy, and Betty Jo Mabe and husband, Rodger, Harry B. Grant and wife, Ruby Neale.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a memorial service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Randy Krantz officiating.
