Josh Randall Byrd

Mr. Josh Randall Byrd, age 50 of Mount Airy, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by his loving mother. Mr. Byrd was born on April 24, 1976, in Surry County, to Patty Paulette Hall Byrd and the late Michael Ray Byrd. Josh was a loving son, nephew, and friend to many. He worked for many years as an auto body and collision repair technician, a trade he took pride in. Mr. Byrd enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. Although his health kept him from enjoying the activities in his later years, the family finds comfort in knowing that Josh is now in Heaven with a new perfect heavenly body. They can picture him once again riding motorcycles, enjoying the outdoors and all the activities without pain or limitation. Josh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his mother, Patty Hall Byrd; aunts, Diane Stewart and Eugene, Penny Hall, Cindy Ritenour; uncles, Stanley Hall, Gernie Hall, Elby Hatfield; cousins, Tracy Hunter, Donald Hatfield; special friends, Jason and Amanda Bare; along with many other family and friends. Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his father, Michael Ray Byrd; maternal grandparents, Ellen Hall and Paul; paternal grandmother, Peggy Byrd; aunt, Goldie Hatfield; cousins, Adam Stewart and Timmy Hunter. No formal services will be held at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
