Joshua David Drake

Joshua David Drake, 41, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026. He was born September 25, 1984, in New Jersey to David Lynn Drake and Patricia Ann Geist Drake.

Joshua attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a hardworking man who spent 37 years working in landscaping and lawn maintenance, buying his own lawnmower at the age of seven. He enjoyed working with his hands and had many interests, including video games, racing slot cars and RC cars, camping, fishing, repairing things, and welding. Joshua especially enjoyed being outdoors and spending time doing the things he loved.

In addition to his parents, Joshua leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Courtney Shanahan Drake; his sister, Beth Ann Silva (John); two brothers, David Matthew Drake (Jessica) and Daniel Ryan Drake (Emily); and his nieces and nephews, including Vaelyn Brianna Drake and Ethan Matthew Drake; a host of other family members and friends.

The family will hold a service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a later date.
