Joy Cook Dunford

Joy Cook Dunford, age 66, of Blacksburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 16th, 2023. Joy was born December 9th, 1957, in Blacksburg to the late Bessie & William (Bill) Cook. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Timothy Cook, and Michael David Cook, her daughter Ashley Nicole Cook, and her special dog Bandit. Joy was survived by her daughter Stacey Akers, her grandkids Kaylee and Logan Akers, Michael Hall, Harliee Phipps, and Savannah Phipps, her brother Danny and special sister-in-law Carla Cook and special cousin Vickie McGlothlin. At her request, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help offset expenses.
