Joyce Elizabeth Mitchell

Joyce Elizabeth Mitchell, 59, of Woolwine, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023. She was born December 29, 1963, in Virginia, to Helen Ruth Tate Scott and the late Donald Monroe Gleason. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Paisley Jade Brasher. Joyce had the most unique laugh. She was a rebel with the heart of an angel. She always thought of and placed others’ needs before her own, she loved her family, lived for them, and they are what made her world go round. Joyce was the strongest woman her family has ever known. She is survived by her partner, Michael Clay Green; daughters, Dana Simmons (Paul), Savannah Rodgers, and Hannah Rodgers; sons, Andrew Meyer (Tia) and Brandon Mitchell; sister, Tina Goble; brothers, Donnie Gleason, Steven Gleason, and Jason Scott; grandchildren, Austin Brasher, Nathan Brasher, Seth Brasher, and Braden Rodgers; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Brasher.
