Judith Burkholder Elliott

Judith “Judy” Burkholder Elliott, 86, of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
She was born on December 10, 1939, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Arthur Watson Burkholder and Mary Louise Volk Burkholder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Douglas Burkholder.

Judy was a dental assistant and loved working with her patients. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking walks, especially at Old City Cemetery.

She is survived by her two children, Cheryl Thomas (Michael) and Wilton Elliott (Lisa); four grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas, Richard Moore (Elizabeth), Tyler Elliott (Kayla), and Laron Elliott (Savannah); ten great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and her special friend, John Alvis.

A private family graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
