Judy Lane Jackson

June 26, 1944 - February 11, 2025

Judy Lane Witcher Jackson, 80, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Jackson; parents, Jim and Ada Witcher; and great grandson, Camden “Stink” Brown.

She is survived by her daughters, Inetha Jackson and Stacy Jackson; grandchildren, Crystal Jackson Bingham, Danaisha Jackson, Jeannell Jackson, Dallys Nesmith, and Destiny Nesmith; great grandchildren, Cai’yah Bingham, Ciniah Bingham, Camillia Jackson, Cayden Brown, Ju’Daya Jackson, Cordell Brown, Jer’Manii Levesy, Carlos Bingham Jr., Cookie Brown, Marcus Brown Jr., Je’Nyah Levesy, Damari Turner, and Seneca Jackson; siblings, Veolia Thomas, Mary Craighead (Billie), Richard T. Witcher (Ernestine), Allen Witcher, and Doris Harris; and special nieces and nephews, Lynwood “Dale” Thomas (Cassandra), Gayle Thomas, Deborah Thomas-Calloway (Tony), and Lynell Thomas; and her loving pet, JoJo Jackson, along with a host of special friends and adoptive grandchildren.

Judy was a loving mother, caring friend, animal lover, and called “Nana” by all. Judy and her husband Newton loved to garden in the spring, and their rose bushes were the pride of the block. As a faithful servant of Jehovah, she enjoyed gathering with her friends and preaching the good news. She served her community by running a loving and nurturing daycare for 16 years. Judy touched the lives of many, and she will truly be missed by all.
