Julia Ella Fralin Manning
Julia Ella Fralin Manning, 92, of Salem passed away on September 26, 2024.
A native of Virginia she was the wife of the late Melvin Hugh Manning and the daughter of James C. Fralin and Nettie Mae Fralin, both deceased. Julia was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Fralin and Howard Fralin; sister, Dora Pendelton; two brothers in law, Gordon Saul and Jim Pendleton; and sisters in law, Jenny Fralin and Eva Fralin.
She was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School. Julia worked as a supervisor for Medeco Security Locks in Salem. She was devoted to her church West Salem Baptist where she enjoyed Bible Study Classes. Julia also enjoyed gardening, cooking, walking, and family time. Special time with her neighbors also known as the Block Party.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Debbie Morris and husband John and Patsy Gibson and her husband RJ. Grandchildren Josh Morris and his wife Mandy. Dustin Morris and wife Amy. Ryan Gibson and wife Bridget Rowland. Kayleigh Butts and husband Robert. Great grandchildren, Avery and Jacob Morris. Shane, Nathan, Trevor and Kayla Morris. Emilia and Rowland Gibson. and Cameron Butts. Two brothers, Linwood Fralin and Ray Fralin and his wife Helen. One Sister Marie Saul. and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends Sonny and Rachel Campbell.
A special thank you to the staff and friends at Snyder Nursing Home for all the love and care they provided for the 6 years she resided there.
The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11:00 am in Sherwood Memorial Park with Pastor Ken Nienke officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Angels of Assisi or the Roanoke Valley SPCA.
