Julie Heck Manley
On April 3, 2023 Julie Heck Manley reached for the right hand of the Most High and ascended into Heaven; a place where she longed to be for many years. Julie was born on Monday, March 6, 1939, a daughter of the late Arnie Woodson Heck and Erma Ruff Heck. She was predeceased by her husband, Lynch Adam Manley, their daughter, Jeanne M. Krantz, and her two brothers, Paul Woodson Heck and Andrew Lee Heck. Julie is survived by two sisters, Loretta H. Markham and Rachel H. Bryant (Tommy), a nephew, Wayne Bryant, and nieces, Tammy Jarels, Wanda Roberts, Alisa Bryant, and Traci Campbell, and two grandsons. She is also survived by her church family at Timber Ridge Baptist Church, Norma Powers, Barbara Fifer, and her special friend and protector, Freda R. Easterly. The family would like to thank the staff at Bedford County Nursing Home for their love, support, and company during the last two years of Julie’s life. She often spoke of how kind everyone was to her, and she thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and crafts provided by the staff. The kindness and care shown to Julie will never be forgotten. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Timber Ridge Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Phil Kelley will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Timber Ridge Baptist Church, 3234 Timber Ridge Rd., Bedford, VA 24523 Burch-Messier Funeral Home in Bedford is in charge of the arrangements. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
