Junious Yvonger Penn

Junious Yvonger Penn, 77, of Spencer, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024. She was born March 11, 1947, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Junior Washington Thomas and Pattie Spencer Thomas.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Penn; son, David S. Penn, Jr.; and great grandson, Amir Pritchett.Junious was a member of the Community Holiness Church with Pastor Richard Carter and was a dedicated employee for Stanley Furniture for fifty years. Junious always had a passion for caring for children and cooking. She loved her family and her church, but most of all God.She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Carter (Len), Sylvia Nibblett (Larry), Mary Dandridge (Pete), and Rhonda Penn; son, Michael Penn (Cindy), Marcus Penn (Danielle), and Michael Thomas; sisters, Vera Reynolds, Renniette Thomas, Velma Joyce, Macie Florence, and Vivian Thomas; brothers, Melvin Thomas (Margaret), Lander Thomas, and Marshall Thomas (Mary); six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.The funeral service will be Friday, July 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Richard Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends and family at the home of Patricia Carter, 54 Fairwood Drive, Martinsville, VA 24112 on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
