Kay Frances Roberts Whitt

Kay Frances Roberts Whitt, 84, of Danville, Virginia, transitioned from her earthly home Thursday, April 17, 2025. She was born March 29, 1941, in Keeling, Virginia, to the late Wister Bryant Roberts and Mary Davis Roberts

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nelson Leroy Whitt; son, Terry Neal Whitt; and brothers, Martin Roberts, Marvin Roberts and Lawrence Roberts.

Kay was a kind and tender woman with a sweet spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her. In her youth, she spent many hours working in the tobacco fields and became skilled at processing crops. Later in life, she devoted herself to being a homemaker, caring deeply for her home and loved ones. She developed a passion for gardening and could often be found tending to her flowers, especially her beloved rose bushes, which brought her great joy and peace.

Left to cherish Kay’s memory are her son, Jerry Lee Whitt (Sharon) of Apollo, Pennsylvania; twin sister, Fay Roberts Pyrtle of Windsor, Pennsylvania; nephew Michael Pyrtle (Angela) of Windsor, Pennsylvania; two great nieces, great-great nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Arran Matthew Whitt, Andrew “Andy” Michael Whitt (Erika) and their mother Laurie Levis Whitt of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Shelley Jean Whitt of Danville, Virginia; five step-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

The funeral will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens located at 1665 South Boston Road, Danville, Virginia. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
