Kenneth Barry Kitchens

Kenneth Barry Kitchens, age 69 of Chatham, Virginia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2024 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Barry was born October 13, 1955 in Commerce, Georgia to the late Anna Mae Nation Kitchens and John Bennett Kitchens.

Barry worked for VDOT for 33 years starting his career in 1985, and became superintendent in 2004 and retired in 2018. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he cherished time spent with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a kind and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.

Barry is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Connie Diane Rigney Kitchens; two sons, Dave Kitchens and his wife Michelle, and Travis Kitchens and his wife Stacey; four grandchildren, Addy Kitchens, Dawson Rudd, Bryson Kitchens, and Jace Kitchens; and one sister, Joyce K. Williams and her husband Rick.

In addition to his parents, Barry was also predeceased by one sister, Sandra K. Jarrell; and four brothers, J. T. Kitchens, Ricky Kitchens, Steve Kitchens, and Toney Kitchens.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024, 6:30 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel with Pastor Gerald Kelly officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
