Kenneth Lee Gravely

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away in his home on May 15, 2024, at the age of 82. The son of Aubrey and Pauline Gravely was born on November 19, 1941, in Martinsville, Virginia, where he spent the better part of his life.

Kenneth, also known by his nicknames, Big Kenny, ‘Ole Man, Dipstick, and Hammer, had a vibrant personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He served in the U.S. Military service in the Vietnam War. After his time in the military, he pursued a career as a truck driver where he retired with much satisfaction. One of Kenneth’s favorite pastimes was exploring flea markets, where he enjoyed finding unique treasures. He often shared his findings with family and friends, bringing joy to their lives through his thoughtful gestures.

Kenneth was a man with strong Baptist beliefs.

Kenneth leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an appreciation for family. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee Gravely and James William (Billy) Gravely; and one sister, Audrey “Boots” Martin.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Gravely; a son, Kenny Gravely; two daughters, Tonia Blackburn and Melissa Gravely; a sister, Patricia “Pat” Riggs; a special need brother in law that was very dear to him, Guy Wilkerson; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Gravely and Brenda Boyce; stepsons, T.C. Harris, Russell Harris, and Jerry Harris; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be Monday, May 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Burial Park. The Martinsville and Henry County Veterans Honor Guard will be presenting Military rites.
