Kenneth M. Wertz

Kenneth M. Wertz, Sr., 83, widower of Shirley Harlow Wertz, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025. He was the son of the late Harry P. and Lena Mae Wickham Wertz. He was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Wertz and two brothers, Benny and Carson Wertz.

Kenneth was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and later retired from General Electric. He enjoyed growing his garden and either selling or giving away the produce he grew.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, and trout fishing, especially with his brother Benny. His church and traveling were also important to him.

He will be missed and remembered by his son, Kenneth M. Wertz, Jr. (Debbie); daughter, Twila Rolfe; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen, Doris, and Betty; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Interment with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Buchanan, VA.
