Kenneth Rice

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Rice, age 60, of Covington, died Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at his residence.
He was the husband of Tamala Thomas (Tammy) Rice.
Mr. Rice was born August 22, 1963 in Virginia, the son of the late Oliver Ray Rice and Betty Landis Rice. Employed by WestRock for thirty-one years, Kenneth worked as a shift leader in the Recovery Department. Mr. Rice enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shooting in his spare time. Most of all, Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Rice is survived by three children, Matthew D. Smith (Teresa), Wendy N. Rice (Morris) and Brandon L. Rice; seven grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Maddisyn Smith, Halee Puffenbarger, Levi Rice, McKenna Morris, Michael (Rhett) Morris and Kimber Rice; three step grandchildren, Harper Harris, Matthew Morris and Kendal Morris; two sisters, Cindy Leigh Rice and husband, James Nichols; Christy Renee Rice Southall and husband, Dewey of Covington; mother-in-law, Cheryl Dianne Thomas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Christine Thomas; and special friends, Zac Skovira, Dave Carter, Britt Mays and William (Tre) Clark, III.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rice was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Emmett and Beulah Byer Landis; paternal grandparents, William and Nellie Rea Rice; and several aunts and uncles.
There is no memorial service scheduled at this time, however, the family will receive friends at the residence, 1604 E. Dolly Ann Drive, Covington, at any time.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars, 710 E. Dolly Ann Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
