Kermit ("Kro Bait") Wayne Gusler

KERMIT WAYNE GUSLER (“KRO BAIT”), 74, of Hollybrook, VA, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 16, 2022. He was born in Bland County on June 25, 1948, the son of the late William & Audrey Gusler.

Kermit attended church at Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was a logger and cut fire wood for over fifty years. He loved nature and being outdoors. He never met a dog he didn’t like and want to rescue. He loved to hunt and enjoyed his many adventures on his hunting trips out west. He was generous and kind and loved to strike up a conversation with the people around him. He taught his family preparation for their life experiences.

Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, William Buford (“Bill”) & Audrey Farlow Gusler, his brothers, James Edward (“Goat”) Gusler and Robert Hal Gusler, and his sister, Amanda Lucille Wright.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons & daughter-in-law, Jason Gusler and Josh & Xuan Gusler; his brother, Lewis Gusler; his sisters, Sarah Curry, Joanna & Mike Havens and Rita & Brian Moore; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and many special friends and firewood customers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Jack Cox officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 7:00 P.M. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Shiloh Cemetery.
