Larry James Cochran

May 4, 1955 - March 17, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Rev. Larry Cochran went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on March 17, 2025. Larry was 69 years old. A month ago he received an unexpected diagnosis of esophageal cancer and encountered acute complications. After enduring a battle of critical and intensive care, he was never able to begin his fight against cancer. He died very peacefully while in prayer surrounded by his family.Larry was born in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Clarence and Joyce Cochran. He lived most of his life in New Jersey. He worked at General Motors Fisher Guide Division in Ewing, NJ. Larry earned a Bachelor of Theology degree from International Seminary and he started an Assembly of God church in New Jersey where he was Pastor for 10 years. In addition, he worked at Hunterdon County ESC Schools as Facilities Manager and he also obtained certifications in mechanics, HVAC-R, water treatment, and boiler operations. He moved to Monroe, VA in 2018.Larry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Deborah Cochran, three adult children and two grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his two sisters and several nieces and nephews.Arrangements are being handled by Whitten Monelison Chapel in Madison Heights, VA. The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Monroe Church of God, 154 Rothwood Road, Monroe, VA 24574 followed by burial at the Monroe Church of God. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Potomac Ministry Network, P. O. Box 690, Gainesville, VA 20156 for New Church Planting.
