Larry "Mac" Gale McGlothlin

January 2, 1947 - June 26, 2025

Dr. Larry “Mac” G. McGlothlin, 78, of Forest, Virginia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of service, healing, and love.
Mac proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran before dedicating his career to serving others as owner and chiropractor at Lynchburg Chiropractic Center for 38 years, until his retirement in 2016. His compassionate care and skilled hands brought relief and wellness to countless patients throughout the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeptha and Clarice McGlothlin; sister-in-law, Audrey McGlothlin; and nephew, Chris Phelps.

Mac is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Janice McGlothlin. He was a devoted father to Amy Moon (Glenn) of Evington, Virginia; Dr. Joey Arthur (Hanna) of Evington, Virginia; Julie Affeldt (Guy) of Buford, Georgia; and Mark McGlothlin of Forest, Virginia.

He treasured his role as grandfather to Josh Moon (Laura), Trevor Moon, Cam Arthur, Kenley Arthur, Haley Affeldt, Hannah Affeldt, Daniel Affeldt, and Ireland McGlothlin. He was also blessed to be great-grandfather to Beau Affeldt.

Mac is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Carol Ann) and Phil McGlothlin, along with many nieces and nephews. He was blessed with so many friends that became like family to him.

A man who found joy in staying active, Mac loved playing pickleball, racquetball, and golf. He had an especially tender heart for his two special dogs, Minnie and Lilly, who brought him immense happiness and companionship.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, officiated by Richard McGlothlin.

Mac will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, caring brother, cherished uncle, and loyal friend to many. His life was a testament to service, kindness, and the importance of family and friendship. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
