Larry William Fleming

Mr. Larry William Fleming, 79, of Cana, VA, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Born April 10, 1947, in Surry County, Larry was the son of the late James William and Jessie Jewell Jones Fleming. Larry was well known throughout the community for his warm smile and friendly demeanor. Following his retirement as a brick mason, he enjoyed spending his time gardening, golfing, rabbit hunting with his dogs, and fishing, a hobby in which he earned numerous citations. He is survived by his children, Sheila Fleming, Rhonda Fleming Hall, and Jamie Fleming (Nanci); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Duggins (Scott) and Braydon Hall; his great-grandchildren, Silas Duggins, Connor Duggins, and Ryder Duggins; his twin brother, Gary Fleming (Carolyn); his sister, Fran Smith Flippin; his niece, April Delacruz (Jay); his nephews, Tim Smith (Angie), Todd Smith (Shelly), and Jason Smith (Leigh Anne); and his best friend and companion, Lucky. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by a nephew, Gary Fleming, Jr. A private graveside memorial service will be held at the Jones-Fleming Cemetery. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
