Laura Moore Doss

Laura Moore “Belle” Doss, 91, of Madison Heights, VA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Cardinal Senior Living.

Born May 31, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Dawson Moore and Eleanor Grow Moore. Belle retired from General Electric/Ericsson and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Madison Heights.

Belle was known as a “raging extrovert” who absolutely loved talking and spending time with other people. She attended every single activity while she was living in Cardinal Senior Living and thoroughly looked forward to them. Belle always had a beautiful smile on her face and greeted everyone with kindness. She also enjoyed singing, regardless of what kind of song it was.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stuart Ashby Doss; her four siblings, Christine Wilkerson, Lewis Moore, Sydney Moore and David Moore; and her daughter-in-law, Angela Doss.

Belle leaves behind her beloved children, Gwendolyn Brooks (Carlton) and Stuart Doss; three grandchildren, Joshua Brooks (Neha), Jeremy Brooks and Justin Brooks; and one great-grandchild, Jasmine Aurora-Belle Brooks.

A celebration of Belle’s life will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Chaplain Clark Richardson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
