Laura Trail Underwood

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Trail Underwood, who entered the arms of her Savior on September 22, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on December 11, 1930, to Nanny Bell and Charles Trail, Laura lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion to the Lord. She was a faithful Christian, always finding strength in her relationship with God, and her life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and grace. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry, her brothers, and her dear husband Curtis Underwood. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Hodges (Leon), and Sandra Trail; her grandchildren, Patrick Robertson, Torrie Nichols (Dale), and Courtney Poage (Josh); and her beloved bulldog, Gizmo. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom were touched by her loving spirit. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Laura’s greatest joy was found in her family. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, whether it was sharing a meal, gardening, or talking on the phone for hours. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was a constant witness to the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Her kindness and unwavering belief in God's promises made her a true light in this world. Laura’s heart was always open, and her joy in the Lord was infectious to all who knew her. Though Laura is now with the Lord, the impact of her life will never be forgotten. The world is a little dimmer without her, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. We will forever remember her love, her faith, and her dedication to family, and we know that she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026." Well done, good and faithful servant."
