Lena Sink Merritt

Lena Sink Merritt, 86, of Salem, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 20, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents Milton J. and Molly Helms Sink; as well at 6 brothers.

Lena is survived by her children, Teresa Carrow (Joe); James Merritt Jr., and Roy “Ugie” Merritt (Kathy); grandchildren, Scott, Ashley, Emily, Lily, Casey, and Adam; 12 great-grandchildren.

Lena was a long-time employee of Medeco Locks. She was a great seamstress, enjoyed arranging flowers, and loved to travel.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 1 pm at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel with Rev. Jack Richards Jr. officiating. Interment will follow services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel. (540)366-0707.
