Leona Toler (Whittington) Morgan
Leona Toler (Whittington) MorganLeona Toler (Whittington) Morgan, 86, of Ararat NC, formerly of Kopperston , WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC, surrounded by her loving family. Leona was born April 6, 1940, to the late Hugh and Juanita Toler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Homer Whittington and Hobert Morgan; her sisters. Barb Pardue and Marie Meade; three brothers-in-law; and her daughter-in-law, Marion Whittington. Left to cherish her memories are her five children: sons, Glenn Whittington of Ararat, NC, and Randy Whittington (Anna) of King, NC; daughters, Cindy Cline (Jeff) of Ararat, Angie Niday (Ted) of Princeton, WV, and Kristia Seigler (Steven) of Ararat, NC. She was also a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Leona is also survived by her sister, Judy Bentley of Minerva, OH; brother, Ellis Toler (Linda) of Kopperston, WV; a special cousin and friend, Becky Blackburn of Kopperston, WV; special friend, Debbie McMillion of Mount Airy, NC; and her beloved fur baby, Bouncer. Leona attended Old Pine Hill Baptist Church in Siloam, NC, as long as her health permitted. To know Leona was to know a woman whose family meant everything to her. She was the backbone of her family, the one who kept everyone connected and made sure no one ever felt forgotten. No matter how many children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren came along, she never forgot a birthday. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, remembered, and important. Leona found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved a good shopping trip, especially to Dollar General or Hamrick’s, where she was always happy to browse and find a good deal. But above all, she loved serving the Lord. Her faith was an important part of her life, and the love she had for God was reflected in the way she cared for those around her. Although her family must now learn to carry on without the woman who held them all together, the love she poured into each of their lives will remain. Her legacy will live on through the family she loved so dearly, the birthdays she never forgot, the memories she help create, and the faith she carried throughout her life. While her absence will be deeply felt, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A celebration of her life will follow at 2:00 PM, in the Moody-Davis Chapel, with Pastor Garrett Bryant and Pastor Travis Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to The Woltz Hospice Home, in Dobson, NC. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is respectfully serving the Morgan family.
