Lerlene Johnson Pendleton

Lerlene Johnson Pendleton, 94, of Fieldale, Virginia, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at SOVAH Health Martinsville. She was born June 11, 1930, in Franklin County, Virginia to the late Lewis Haymore Johnson and Erie Keaton Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Tony Ellis Pendleton.

A devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lerlene dedicated many years to working in housekeeping at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She cherished spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Donald Ellis Pendleton of Fieldale, Virginia; one sister, Shirley Turner of Fieldale, Virginia; two grandchildren, David Ellis Pendleton, and Amy Suzanne Weaver, and one great granddaughter, Evelyn Hope Weaver.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor John Hiss officiating. The burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
