Leslie Winston Spradlin

Leslie Winston Spradlin, 84, of Vinton, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter “Lewis” and Leona “Mae” Spradlin; his siblings, Lottie Hartman, Gaylon Spradlin, Kathleen Cawley, Pearle Quarles, Barry Spradlin, Donald Spradlin, Kenneth Spradlin, and Shelbourne Spradlin; and his son, Kevin Winston Spradlin.

Leslie was proud of his service to his country, having served four years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career at General Electric, where he worked on the line from 1965 until his retirement in 1999. Growing up on a farm, Leslie developed a lifelong love for working the land. He was also known for his sense of humor and especially enjoyed telling jokes to friends and family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Stephanie Carpenter (Brian); grandchildren, Abbey Carpenter (Tyler), and Austin Carpenter (Abby); great-grandson, Weston Whitaker; siblings, Warren Spradlin (Clair), and Glenn Spradlin (Doris); and a special brother-in-law, Norman Quarles.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton, with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Geiser officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Foutz Family Cemetery.
