Lewis Edward McGuire

Lewis Edward McGuire, 87, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025. Lewis was born in Danville, VA on May 26, 1937 to the late Gracie Rose Gardner McGuire and the late Curtis Gilmer McGuire. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Carolyn Stanley McGuire.

Lewis was of the Christian Faith, and was a faithful member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Danville. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company previous to his retirement. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He had a special love for playing the guitar, and he loved classic cars, especially Model A & Model T classic cars.

Lewis is survived by his God Son and Nephew Kent Stanley and wife Ronda of Danville, VA, who were also his loving caregivers during his time of illness. He is also survived by many other special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his Parents and Wife, Lewis was predeceased by a brother; Billy Lee McGuire and a sister; Barbara Ann McGuire Hughes.

The family request, that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Danville/ Pittsylvania County Cancer Association at 223 Riverview Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA 24541.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 12:00pm at Norris West End Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Austin Merricks, Pastor Seth Lackey, and Pastor Daniel Lackey officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on the same day from 11:00am-12:00pm also at Norris West End Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will be receiving friends at the residence of his nephew, Mr. Kent Stanley.
