Lillie Mae Fountain

Lillie Mae Fountain, 94, of Axton, Virginia, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, August 17, 2026. She was born on August 11, 1932, in McComas, West Virginia, to the late Tommie Joe Millner and Mary Ellen Fountain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Stovell Fountain; daughter, Valrie Williams; one son, Ray Fountain; two sisters, Eliza Millner and Martha Napper; and two brothers, Harry Millner and Eugene Millner.

Lillie was a lifelong member of New Fall Creek Church. She dedicated 35 years of service to Sovah Health (formerly known as Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County) where she worked in the Radiology Department. Her many years of faithful service reflected her strong work ethic and commitment to helping others. Lillie enjoyed shopping and singing, but above all, she loved her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Jacklyn Fountain, Betty Penn (Gordon) and Sheila Williams (Barry); two sons, Mark Fountain (Juantia) and Vince Fountain (Margaret); nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, church family, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Fountain Family Cemetery, 107 Delmore Lane, Axton, Virginia. There will be a floating visitation on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel.
