Linda Edwards Mills

Linda Edwards Mills, age 74 of Danville, Va. passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at SOVAH Hospital in Danville, Va. Mrs. Mills was born March 31, 1949 in Wythe County, Va. to the late Garnett E. Edwards and the late Viola Elliott Edwards. She was married to Richard Mills.

She graduated from Averett University and retired from the City of Danville. She will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and friend to everyone who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband of the residence, she is also survived by one daughter, Wendie Lee Fleming and husband Shawn; one sister, Debra Coke and husband Bryan; two sisters-in-law, Vickie Cook and husband Randy and Pat Mills; two brothers-in-law, Danny Mills and wife Kathy, and Willie Mills and wife Sylvia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by two sisters, Kathy Sutherland and Barbara Jean Edwards; and one brother-in-law, Dennis Mills.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU team at SOVAH, especially Barbara Gunnell, Vickie Cook, Debra Coke, and all her caregivers over the last two months.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
