Linda Gail Watkins

Linda Gail Watkins, 71, passed away on April 23, 2024, at Martinsville Health and Rehab. She was born in Martinsville, Virginia, on January 15, 1953, to the late James Ralph Wilson and Margie Mozzelle Hawks Moore. She is also preceded in death by her step-father Carl Moore and several aunts and uncles.

Linda worked in the Knitting Department at Bassett-Walker for over 20 years and at Pluma in the Sewing Department for around 15 years. She was last employed in the IT Department at Patrick and Henry Community College. Never meeting a stranger, she was a friend to everyone she met and the "adopted Mom" to so many of her son's friends. She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church.

Linda is survived by a son, Michael Watkins (Apryl); and two grandchildren, Nataly Oliver, and Quynn Snyder; two sisters, Joyce Farmer (Sonny), and Annie Jean Pickerel; and many other special family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024. at 12:00 PM, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with interment following at Susie Hawks Cemetery in Fancy Gap, VA.
