Linda Gay Cunningham Kinzie

Linda Gay Cunningham Childress Kinzie, 80, of Madison Heights passed away on Monday October 19, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Robert Cunningham and Katie Meeks.

Linda “Lucy”, born May 7, 1946 was a loving wife to George Kinzie whom she met one Christmas and like a Hallmark movie, fell in love with the tall handsome man with dark hair and beard that delivered our Christmas tree that year. She was a loving mother to Michelle Olenick, from her first marrage to Bobby Childress, who she met at the service station he worked at, their first date was at a drag race, a loving grandmother to Samantha, Kat, Mary and Kai Olenick, great-grandmother to Willow Jamison, sister to Randy and Bonnie and sister to the late Robert and Butchie. She loved animals, roller skating, bike riding, exploring nature & finding “treasures”, beach trips, drives on the mountain parkway, Dr. Peppers, Red velvet cake and her red convertible Thunderbird with porthole windows.

There will be a celebration of life service for Linda on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 2pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel, officiated by Minister Matt Heckman. There will be a graveside service to follow at Fort Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday October 26, 2026 from 6pm-8pm at the chapel.
