Linda Kay Dicker

Linda Dicker, 62, of Vinton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nola Basinger; her sister, Janet Hoffer and her husband, Eugene; her brothers, Denzil “Buddy” Basinger and Carl Basinger; her brother-in-law, Ivan Chenault; and her sister-in-law, DeNae Basinger.

Linda was a faithful member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, where she played viola with the Chamber of Grace orchestra and taught a ladies’ Sunday school class for many years. Music was an important part of Linda’s life, and she enjoyed playing the viola with several chamber groups throughout the years.

Above all else, Linda cherished her family. She loved spending time with them and treasured the many memories they made together, especially around the board game table. Her family fondly remembers the enthusiasm and competitive spirit she brought to every game.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Brent Dicker; her children, Isaac Long and wife, Nicole, Emily Babcock, Clifford “Ethan” Dicker, Jacob Dicker and wife, Sydney, Josiah Dicker, Benjamin Dicker, Kaytlin “Katie” Dicker, and Natalie Dicker; her daughter-in-law, Janelle Dicker; her grandchildren, Madison Knight and husband, Andrew, Joshua Long, Derek Long, Ana Long, Jonathan Long, Rebekah Long, Christy Babcock, Addie Babcock, Aleyah Babcock, Aiden Babcock, Micah Babcock, Claire Dicker, and Riley Dicker; her sisters, Sandra Chenault, Ruth Sumner, Carol Basinger, and Beverly Giffin and husband, Duane; her brother, Dale Basinger and wife, Brenda; as well as 31 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, 1737 Robertson Road, Bedford, Virginia 24523. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the church, with Pastor Greg Rogers officiating. A graveside service will be held at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Linda’s steadfast faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her love for her family, her music, and her Lord will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

God is faithful, by who ye were called unto the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ our Lord.
