Linda Beatrice Zigler Preston

Linda Beatrice Zigler Preston, 75, of Martinsville, VA transitioned on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Martinsville, VA on September 8, 1946 a daughter of the late Sammy and Beatie Via Zigler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford H. Preston.
She was retired from the Martinsville City Public School system where she also served as cheer leading coach. Linda was a member of Mt. Olive East Christian Church where she served as church clerk, Usher, on the Gospel choir and DWF. She also served on the Spencer-Redd Family reunion committee.
Those left to cherish her memory include on son, Buford L. Preston, of Martinsville, VA; one sister, Jennifer Zigler, of the home; one brother, Sammy Zigler, Jr., of Roanoke, VA and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Mt. Olive East Christian Church (DOC) with Dr. Kenneth Davis, officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Spencer, VA. The family will receive friends at the church one half hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at 1307 Cardinal Lane Martinsville, VA at other times.
